SAN DIEGO–An inmate who escaped from a men’s prison in Chino was captured by authorities on Monday.
Local law enforcement agencies received an alert early Monday morning for an escapee from Chino Men’s State Prison. The escapee was identified as 33-year-old Michael Garrett.
Just before 6 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to assist San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force personnel with searching for Garrett around Santa Fe Drive in Encinitas.
At 6:11 p.m., deputies took Garrett into custody, without incident, in the 400 block of Santa Fe Drive.
