DEL MAR–Beaches between 7th and 9th streets tested clean and reopened Wednesday after being closed by a sewage spill three days earlier.
The County Department of Environmental Health closed the beaches Sunday morning shortly after an estimated 4,200 gallons of sewage washed into the ocean. City crews responded immediately to the 100 block of 8th Street to contain the flows and complete repairs.
The spill triggered a routine, 72-hour closure.
