Escondido, CA–Escondido police are searching for a man who reportedly exposed himself to several women while seated in his vehicle during the week of May 5 through 11, authorities said.
The man approached the unsuspecting women in his car, made lewd comments, and directed their attention to his indecent acts. The incidents occurred near the 2400 block of South Escondido Blvd. and Cranston Drive.
The suspect is described as a heavyset white or Hispanic male adult with a round face and facial hair. He was seen driving an older gray or black Volvo station wagon. Investigators believe there may be additional victims in the area. Anyone with information regarding these incidents can contact Officer Martin Mohammed at (760) 839-4442.
According to the Escondido Police Department, individuals who engage in this lewd conduct often target unsuspecting women who are out walking or returning to their cars in parking lots. These criminals try to get the victim’s attention by calling them to their vehicle under the pretense of asking a question and then directing their attention to the lewd act.
Authorities advise the public to avoid responding to or approaching men trying to get the attention of young women or children. If a lewd act is witnessed, do not confront the suspect. Instead, immediately contact the Escondido Police Department and report details of the crime.
