San Diego County Fair to Host “Saturdays at the Sound” Spectacular

By Gina Yarbrough

Del Mar, CA–The San Diego County Fair is set to dazzle audiences with “Saturdays at the Sound,” a series of four extraordinary theatrical experiences combining music, dance, and cutting-edge special effects.

The first event, on June 15, features Paramount’s Laser Spectacular, a multimedia extravaganza showcasing the original music of Pink Floyd with stunning laser and light effects. The June 22 performance will showcase ilLuminated, winners of “2011 Best New Act in America” from America’s Got Talent, blending technology and dance into a mesmerizing performance.

On June 29, audiences will be transported into the Metaverse with isLUMIA!, a show combining state-of-the-art projection mapping, holograms, and interactive lasers. The series concludes on July 6 with The Stickmen Project, a UK-based duo known for their energetic blend of percussion, DJing, and dance, all dressed as stick figures.

The events are open to all ages with general admission seating on a first-come, first-served basis. A standing room is also available, with a limit of eight tickets per household.

The shows will be performed at The Sound. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and shows start at 8 p.m. Tickets are priced at $30 each for general admission, which includes same-day Fair entry.

For more information and tickets, visit SDfair.com/Saturdays.

The 2024 Fair’s theme is “Let’s Go Retro,” offering a nostalgic journey from the 1950s to the early 2000s. The fair will run from June 12 to July 7, with closures on Mondays and Tuesdays. Additional details can be found at sdfair.com.
