Blumhouse and visionary writer-director Leigh Whannell, known for the chilling The Invisible Man, present a new nightmare: Wolf Man.
Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott (Poor Things, It Comes at Night) stars as Blake, a San Francisco husband and father whose life takes a terrifying turn. After inheriting his remote childhood home in rural Oregon following his father’s mysterious disappearance, Blake convinces his wife Charlotte (Emmy winner Julia Garner; Ozark, Inventing Anna) to leave their urban life for a family trip with their young daughter, Ginger (Matilda Firth; Hullraisers, Coma).
Their journey soon descends into horror. Upon arriving at the isolated farmhouse late at night, the family is attacked by an unseen beast. Desperate for safety, they barricade themselves inside while the creature prowls outside. But as the night unfolds, Blake begins to change, exhibiting disturbing and unrecognizable behavior. Charlotte must confront a horrifying dilemma: is the danger within the house more deadly than the one lurking outside?
The film also stars Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn), Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man), newcomer Zac Chandler, and Beatriz Romilly and Milo Cawthorne (both from Shortland Street).
Directed by Whannell and co-written with Corbett Tuck, Wolf Man continues Whannell’s streak of haunting narratives following The Invisible Man, Upgrade, and Insidious: Chapter 3. The production boasts an impressive team, including Blumhouse founder Jason Blum, Ryan Gosling (The Fall Guy, Lost River), and executive producers Whannell, Beatriz Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Ken Kao.
Presented by Universal Pictures and Blumhouse in collaboration with Waypoint Entertainment and Cloak and Co., Wolf Man promises a gripping thriller where love, family, and survival collide with the supernatural.
