Two killed in motorcycle collision in El Cajon

By SDCN Editor

San Diego, CA–A routine traffic stop turned tragic as El Cajon police officers attempted to stop a black Harley Davidson motorcycle for a traffic violation at 1700 East Main Street Saturday night, authorities said.

The motorcycle, carrying two individuals, fled from officers, accelerating westbound on Main Street at a dangerously high speed.

Despite efforts to stop the motorcycle, it managed to outpace the pursuing officer, only to collide with the rear of a blue Toyota Tacoma and a black Hyundai Sonata at 1300 East Main Street. The impact of the collision resulted in serious injuries to both the male driver and female passenger on the motorcycle. Despite the prompt response of officers and El Cajon Fire Department personnel to provide medical treatment, both individuals succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The identities of the 42-year-old male driver and 42-year-old female passenger are known to authorities. However, their names are being withheld pending notification of family members.

The occupants of the blue Tacoma and black Sonata emerged from the collision unharmed and have been fully cooperative with the ongoing investigation.

The El Cajon Police Department urges anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them at (619) 579-3311.
