Escondido, CA–A man was fatally stabbed Saturday morning at the Escondido Transit Center, prompting police response and the arrest of a suspect later that day.
Escondido police dispatchers received a call reporting a man down and bleeding at the transit hub just after 8 a.m. at 700 W. Valley Parkway. Officers arrived and began life-saving efforts before Escondido Fire paramedics transported the victim to Palomar Medical Center. The man was later pronounced dead.
Investigators soon identified a suspect in the case. Later that morning, officers detained 33-year-old Kandilaria Freeman of San Diego in connection with the stabbing. After further investigation, detectives arrested Freeman on suspicion of murder. She was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on a “no bail” hold for murder and a probation violation.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
