Sheriff’s Office to collect unwanted meds on Prescription Drug Take Back Day

San Diego, CA–The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department will collect and dispose of unwanted medicines during the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The event is April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at select locations in San Diego. 

Sheriff’s deputies will be at the following locations:

Alpine Sheriff’s Station – 2751 Alpine Boulevard

Encinitas Scripps Hospital – 354 Santa Fe Drive

Fallbrook Sheriff’s Substation – 388 East Alvarado Street

Imperial Beach Sheriff’s Substation – 845 Imperial Beach Boulevard

Lakeside Sheriff’s Substation – 12365 Parkside Street

Poway Sheriff’s Station – 13100 Bowron Road

Ramona Sheriff’s Substation – Albertson’s – 1459 Main Street

Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station – 11486 Campo Road

San Marcos Sheriff’s Station – 182 Santar Place

Valley Center Sheriff’s Substation – 28201 N Lake Wohlford Road

This service is free and anonymous.  No sharps or needles accepted. 

Unwanted or expired prescription drugs can be dangerous to the community by falling into the wrong hands.

If the public can’t participate in Prescription Drug Take Back Day, they can drop off unwanted prescriptions at any Sheriff’s Station or Substation during normal business hours.
