San Marcos, CA–Sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating a stabbing incident that killed a  woman in San Marcos Tuesday, authorities said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a stabbing report around 10:20 p.m. in the 100 block of North Twin Oaks Valley Road.

Deputies arrived at the scene and discovered an adult female victim who had sustained a stab wound. Immediate medical assistance was administered, and the victim was transported to an area hospital. Despite life-saving efforts by medical staff, the victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time.

The suspect accused of stabbing the woman was apprehended by deputies at the scene. 

Sheriff’s detectives are conducting a thorough investigation, gathering evidence to shed light on the motivation and circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, details about the crime remain under investigation. However, authorities said there are no outstanding suspects, and there is no apparent danger to the community.
