Oceanside, CA–A Riverside man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a female bicyclist near State Route 76 on March 17 in Oceanside, authorities announced.
Christian Howard, 26, was taken into custody by Oceanside Police investigators for gross vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run resulting in death. The arrest was made at his place of work in Corona, CA.
The incident unfolded on March 17 at approximately 11:35 p.m. when the Oceanside Police Department responded to reports of a fatal injury collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist near the intersection of SR-76 and Singh Way. The victim, identified as Tracey Gross, succumbed to her injuries the following day.
Authorities have not disclosed further details about the circumstances of the collision or the events leading up to Howard’s arrest. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
