VISTA–Sheriff’s Department Vista COPPS Unit conducted a plainclothes minor decoy tobacco buy detail at all tobacco retailers in Vista.
In all, 35 retailers were visited during the detail. No arrests were made, and all of the retailers visited were found to be in compliance.
Tobacco retailers were visited in order to ensure the businesses that sell tobacco are complying with all tobacco laws relating to minors. These types of on-going details help reduce the chance of minors being injured or adversely affected by tobacco.
