El Cajon, CA–A woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision on Main Street Thursday evening, authorities said.
According to the El Cajon Police Department, the incident occurred as the 63-year-old victim was crossing southbound when a westbound vehicle hit her and fled the scene without stopping.
Traffic investigators later identified the suspect vehicle as a Hyundai Sonata. Officers located the car parked and unoccupied in a nearby neighborhood, but the driver has not yet been found.
The victim’s identity has not been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
