NATIONAL CITY–A woman is in serious condition after she suffered multiple stab wounds inside a burning motel room early Sunday morning in National City, according to the National City Police Department.
National City police officers responded at 3 a.m. to the Roadway Inn Motel, located at 607 Roosevelt Avenue, to investigate a report of structure fire.
Officers arrived at the motel to find one of the rooms engulfed in flames. Several motel guests were attempting to extinguish the flames while extracting an unconscious female from the room.
Paramedics transported the woman to a local hospital for treatment where she was listed in serious condition.
The investigation is still ongoing.
