Los Angeles, CA–The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Oscar-nominated producer and Academy Producers Branch governor Jennifer Fox will once again produce the 16th Annual Governors Awards, set for November 16 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood.
This marks Fox’s seventh time producing the prestigious event, which kicks off the Academy’s 98th Oscars season.
At this year’s ceremony, Honorary Oscars will be presented to Debbie Allen, Tom Cruise, and Wynn Thomas, while the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award will go to Dolly Parton.
“Jennifer’s expertise in producing the Governors Awards is unmatched,” said Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor. “We are thrilled to welcome her back to celebrate four truly remarkable honorees.”
Fox expressed her enthusiasm for returning to the Governors Awards event.
“It’s always an honor to produce this joyous and esteemed Academy event. I’m looking forward to helping pay tribute to the incredible achievements of Debbie Allen, Tom Cruise, Dolly Parton, and Wynn Thomas.”
Fox, whose career spans more than two decades, has produced or executive-produced acclaimed films including “Michael Clayton,” “Good Night, and Good Luck,” “Syriana,” “Nightcrawler,” and “The Last Duel.” She began her career at Universal Pictures before joining Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney’s Section Eight Productions. Her upcoming project, “Artificial,” is directed by Luca Guadagnino.
The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, also an Oscar statuette, honors individuals in the film industry whose humanitarian work has significantly advanced human welfare.
The 16th Governors Awards is presented in partnership with Rolex, the exclusive watch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
