Oceanside, CA–Two suspects were arrested Wednesday in connection with a series of commercial burglaries that occurred across the city throughout September, authorities report.
According to the Oceanside Police Department, the burglaries targeted businesses in downtown Oceanside as well as the College Boulevard and Marron Road corridor.
Investigators launched an extensive investigation after receiving multiple reports from local business owners. Surveillance footage helped identify the suspects, who were reportedly using a U-Haul truck to carry out the crimes. Detectives later secured several search and arrest warrants tied to the case.
On Wednesday, members of the Oceanside Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit, assisted by the SWAT Team, executed search warrants at multiple locations. Officers recovered five stolen and illegal firearms, ammunition, high-capacity magazines, stolen checks, credit cards, passports, identification cards, and U.S. currency.
The department stated the coordinated effort led to the resolution of more than 35 burglary cases. The suspects were booked on multiple felony charges, including grand theft, burglary, conspiracy, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, and possession of stolen property.
In a released statement, the Oceanside Police Department “commended the teamwork between its patrol, investigative, and tactical units for their efforts in bringing the case to a successful conclusion.”
