San Diego, CA–San Diego Foundation will serve as the new title sponsor for its SoCal Triple Crown race series, In Motion Events announced.
This past year, approximately 1,260 athletes completed the three-event challenge, and participation is expected to increase with the support of the San Diego Foundation.
The San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown race series includes In Motion Events’ three largest events. The series starts with the Carlsbad Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K in January, then the GOVX San Diego Half Marathon and 5K in March, and is wrapped up with the America’s Finest City Half Marathon and 5K in August. This trio offers a variety of courses and scenery throughout San Diego, providing athletes with a fun and unique running experience in distinct parts of the city and county. Athletes who participate in each event in the same calendar year, no matter the distance, participants will be awarded four medals, one for each race, and a San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown medal.
San Diego Foundation is a local organization that works with multiple donors, including individuals, businesses, and organizations, to award grants that enable community solutions to improve the quality of life in the local region. With this title sponsorship, they are furthering their community involvement which has been ongoing for nearly 50 years.

With the San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown race series wrapping up with America’s Finest City Half Marathon and 5K, those who complete the challenge at this event can expect additional VIP treatment post-race. This includes an exclusive San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown tent with free snacks, beverages, post-race recovery assets, and more.
Runners who have completed the San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown challenge for at least two consecutive years can enjoy added perks. Each additional year, a runner maintains their streak, they will earn an extra medal slider for their medal at America’s Finest City Half Marathon and 5K, which serves as the series finale. The event has left an impact on the athletic community, with over 300 participants being recognized as streakers in 2024.
