La Jolla, CA–Tournament officials have announced the seeded players for the United States Tennis Association National Women’s Senior Hard Court Championships scheduled for May 13 through May 19 at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club.
Defending singles champion Amanda Parson Siegel of Santa Ana, CA is the top seed in the 50 and over singles division. Dina McBride of Thousand Oaks, CA who captured the 50 and over singles title in 2022, is seeded No. 2.
Defending singles champion Vicki Buholz of Dallas is the No. 1 seed in the 60 and over division. Frances Chandler of Jackson, TN last year’s 60 and over singles runner-up, is seeded second.
Tina Karwasky, the 71-year-old two-time defending singles champion, is the 70 and over the top seed. Karwasky, who finished 2022 as the No. 1 ranked player in the International Tennis Federation 70 and over rankings, captured the 60 and over singles title at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club from 2012 through 2016. Elizabeth Kuhle of Rancho Mirage, CA is the No. 2 seed.
The top seed in the 80 and over the singles division is Carolynn Castell of Kirkland, WA. Local entrant Catherine Anderson of Del Mar is seeded second. The 81-year-old Anderson is the defending 80 and over singles champion. There were no entries in the 90 and over and 95 and over age divisions.
The USTA National Women’s Senior Hard Court Championships features top players from across the country in the 50, 60, 70, and 80 and over age divisions. Events include singles and doubles. USTA gold, silver, or bronze balls will be awarded to the first, second and third-place finishers in all women’s events.
The tournament is part of the International Tennis Federation World Tennis Masters Tour which provides a range of team and individual singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events for each five-year age increment from 30 and over to 90 and over.
Tennis enthusiasts can watch the tournament with free admission. Spectators can dine on-site at the Club’s Snack Bar and Club Dining restaurant during the tournament. On-site parking is available for a nominal fee.

The La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club’s 50th annual Men’s Senior Championships will also take place the same week in conjunction with the women’s events and will include both singles and doubles for 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, and 85 and over age groups. Although the men’s events are not national championships, they will feature many senior players who regularly compete in national tournaments.
