Los Angeles, CA–Rapper and business mogul Jay-Z will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Feb. 14, 2027, following an announcement from Roc Nation, Apple Music, and the NFL.
The announcement follows a yearlong celebration of the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. The Jay-Z 30 initiative featured immersive experiences, limited-edition merchandise and sold-out concerts at Yankee Stadium and in London, Paris and Los Angeles.
“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell praised the rapper’s contributions to the halftime show and said he had hoped Jay-Z would eventually perform.
“For several years, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Jay-Z and Roc Nation, and I’ve seen the extraordinary impact he has had on the Super Bowl Halftime Show,” Goodell said.
Goodell said that when the NFL first partnered with Roc Nation to produce the show, he asked that Jay-Z take the stage himself when the time felt right.
“I couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity and cultural impact he will bring to the Super Bowl stage,” Goodell said.
Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of music and international content, said the company was excited to bring Jay-Z to the halftime stage after working with him and Roc Nation to feature prominent artists in previous performances.
“Jay-Z’s impact on global music culture is as profound as it is undeniable,” Schusser said. “We are so thrilled that he will be taking that stage himself this year. We know it’s going to be an incredible show.”
Jay-Z, a 25-time Grammy Award winner and four-time Emmy winner, is the first hip-hop artist inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021 and has established himself as a major figure in music, film, business and philanthropy.
Fans can also visit Jay-Z’s Road to Halftime on Apple Music for exclusive content, programming throughout the NFL season and experiences developed in partnership with the league.
Roc Nation will executive produce the halftime show, with Hamish Hamilton serving as director. The company also serves as the NFL’s strategic entertainment adviser for the performance.
The performance will air on ESPN, ABC and Disney+, with mobile streaming available through NFL+. Spanish-language coverage will air on ESPN Deportes and Disney+, with a separate Spanish-language presentation on Univision.
