ALPINE–Lions, Tigers and Bears will kick off the holiday season with the animal sanctuary’s annual Christmas Festival Fundraiser on December 5.
Bobbi Brink, founder and director of Lions Tigers and Bears (LTB), a non-profit accredited big cat, bear and exotic animal sanctuary, says the public is invited to join in the festivities from 1 to 4 p.m. in Alpine.
“Bears and big cats need our help, not just during the holidays, but every day of the year” says Brink. “If you haven’t been to LTB yet, this is a great way to come out, kick off the holiday season and see the work that we do firsthand.”
The event will feature an appearance by Santa Claus, a silent auction, an opportunity drawing, 50/50 opportunity drawing with the possibility to win over $10,000, live art, Pac-Mex cuisine by local favorite Tio Chino, and a chance for guests to get a jump start on their holiday shopping with the 40 local vendors and crafters who will be in attendance.
The day’s highlight will be watching the sanctuary’s rescued animals -including Maverick, the 470 pound tiger, Conga the majestic and playful leopard, and Meatball, the infamous black bear – open their Christmas presents.
The event is open to the public and tickets are on sale now – $35 for adults and $15 for children, discounted member rates are available. VIP pricing is $110 and includes early entry, a welcome drink and a ‘Feed a Wild One Experience’, with the option to feed a lion, tiger or bear.
