San Marcos, CA–San Diego County Sheriff’s Department detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate suspects involved in a burglary in San Marcos last month.
The incident occurred on June 30, shortly after 11 a.m., at a residence in the 1200 block of South Hampton Road.
The burglars stole approximately $20,000 worth of jewelry, purses, and other items. Following the theft, the suspects used stolen credit cards to make fraudulent purchases totaling about $1,300 at Albertsons, located in the 1900 block of West San Marcos Boulevard in San Marcos, and Ralphs, located in the 300 block of South Twin Oaks Valley Road in San Marcos, and Food 4 Less, located in the 600 block of North Broadway in Escondido.
Surveillance video provided to the Sheriff’s detectives captured images of a newer white vehicle near the burglary scene, possibly a 2020 Chevrolet Suburban. The footage also showed a woman and a man outside the victim’s home.
The first suspect is described as a white female between 30 and 40 years old with brown hair. She was wearing a brown “Modelo” hat, a white “Budweiser” t-shirt, and black shorts at the time of the incident.
The second suspect is described as a white male, wearing a straw-style hat, black face mask, sunglasses, black shorts, and black shoes.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspects to contact the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station at (760) 510-5200. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to the Crime Stoppers hotline at (888) 580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
