BONITA–Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the July 4 shooting death of a woman found outside an apartment complex parking lot in Bonita.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 7:40 p.m. call of a person who was shot in the 5100 block of Cedarwood Road. When deputies arrived, they found an adult female victim who had been shot and bystanders were performing CPR. Deputies learned there was a fight between several women in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 5100 Cedarwood Road just prior to the shooting. The victim was found in the parking lot.

The female was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the victim did not survive. She was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit is investigating the case.
