San Diego, CA–A commercial vehicle accident Thursday closed all vehicle lanes and pedestrian walkways near the Edward J. Schwartz Federal Office Building in San Diego.
General Services Administration says the closures are required to further assess damage to the building following a minor single-vehicle accident involving a commercial truck transporting a craned vehicle through the underpass.
Temporary vehicle and pedestrian barriers have been placed to close the street, sidewalks, and crosswalk on Front Street between E and F Streets. The closures will remain in place until further notice.
Once the General Services Administration has assessed the damage and repairs have been made the roadway and pedestrian walkways will be reopened to traffic.
Motorists and pedestrians walking near the construction site are advised to plan ahead and adhere to detour signage.
