CARLSBAD–Two males were shot by a resident Friday after they allegedly attempted to force entry into a house party at the Carlsbad residence, Carlsbad police department said.

Police officers responded to a report of a shooting, just after 11 p.m., in the 900 Block of Turnstone Road.

On arrival, officers contacted a 19-year-old male resident who stated he was having a party. The resident stated several uninvited guests showed up to the party and entered his residence. The uninvited guests were reportedly told to leave.

A short time later, the uninvited guests returned to the residence and attempted to force their way inside by kicking in the front door. The resident stated he armed himself with a handgun and fired several rounds at the individuals. Two of the individuals were struck by bullets and all of the uninvited guests fled the scene.

The two gunshot victims, both 18-year-old males, were taken to separate local hospitals by their companions.

With assistance from the San Diego Sheriff’s Department, officers located the victims at the hospitals. The injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

There are no outstanding suspects and no arrests have been made. Carlsbad police detectives are investigating the incident.
