El Cajon, CA–A major narcotics investigation by the El Cajon Police Department has culminated in the seizure of approximately 26 pounds of illegal drugs and the arrest of four individuals suspected of trafficking controlled substances, authorities said.
The operation, which recently concluded, targeted a suspected drug distribution network operating within the city. Detectives conducting surveillance observed behavior consistent with large-scale narcotics trafficking. Working in coordination with uniformed officers, authorities safely detained the suspects and executed a search warrant at a nearby apartment.
Inside the residence, investigators discovered multiple vacuum-sealed packages containing fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine.
Four adults were taken into custody and booked on felony charges related to the possession and transportation of controlled substances for sale. The suspects have been identified as Melanie Castaneda, 22; Andres Ramirez, 21; Jason Ripberger, 25; and Anaiza Ramirez, 24.
