Oceanside, CA–Firefighters battled a Saturday morning fire that broke out at a condominium in Oceanside, officials said.

Fire crews responded to a report of a fire in the ground floor unit of a condominium complex with eight connected homes in the 500 block of Calle Montecito, according to the Oceanside Fire Department.

Thick black smoke was seen coming from a window on the bottom floor of the unit. Upon entry, fire crews found contents on fire in the living room. They were able to knock down the blaze within eight minutes upon arrival. Additional crews ensured all occupants of other adjoining condos were out of their homes and evaluated for any smoke and fire extensions. All adjoining occupancies were able to re-enter their homes later in the day.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No homeowner or firefighters were injured.
