El Cajon, CA–The El Cajon Police Department has unveiled Citizen Connect, an innovative web-based tool designed to provide the community with near real-time updates on police activity in their neighborhoods.
Citizen Connect is accessible by mobile devices or computers. The platform aims to enhance transparency and communication between residents and law enforcement.
Users can view police call responses and locations displayed on a map. The platform also allows residents to set up customized alerts for specific areas of interest, notifying them of nearby police activity. Additionally, users can search for closed calls within selected date ranges and explore heat maps showing areas with the highest volume of activity.
“Leveraging technology to keep our community safe and informed is a top priority in El Cajon,” stated incoming Police Chief Jeremiah Larson. “Citizen Connect represents an exciting step forward in promoting transparency and fostering stronger connections between the police department and our residents.”
