Valley Center, CA–Sheriff’s investigators and San Diego County Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man suspected of assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and child abuse, authorities said.
Authorities said the incident occurred about 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2025, near a pond at the intersection of Valley Center Road and Irish Oaks Road. An unidentified man confronted two juveniles, brandished a knife and chased them from the area.
Investigators said the suspect also destroyed a fishing pole and slashed four tires on a vehicle belonging to the victims. The total damage was estimated at $1,300.
During the encounter, the suspect allegedly provided a false name, identifying himself as “Hector Zeroni,” authorities said.
The suspect is described as a white male between 25 and 35 years old. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, tan pants and brown work boots.
