Escondido, CA–An adult and a child were displaced from their unit after a fire erupted at their apartment complex in Escondido on Friday, fire officials said.
According to the Escondido Fire Department, the incident occurred just before 5 p.m. at the apartment complex at 1051 North Escondido Blvd.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and found smoke emerging from a first-floor apartment. They discovered a bedroom fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading into the living area. Through rapid intervention, crews confined the damage to the apartment of origin. No injuries were reported.
The adult and child are receiving temporary housing assistance from the Red Cross.
Escondido Police facilitated evacuations and managed traffic while SDG&E secured the utilities.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
