VALLEY CENTER–The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a helicopter crash that injured one passenger Friday in Valley Center.  

Deputies from the Valley Center Substation received a 9-1-1 call about the crash near Muutama Road and McNally Road around 7:30 a.m.  

The 51-year-old-owner and pilot of a crop dusting helicopter told deputies he was spraying an orchard. The crash happened while the helicopter was being refilled with pesticides. The pilot was not hurt. A 35-year-old passenger helping to refill the helicopter with pesticide suffered minor injuries. He was taken by Mercy Air to Palomar Medical Center for treatment.
