Vista, CA–The San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office Thursday released the name of a Vista man found fatally shot in his bed August 8 in his home, authorities said.
The victim was identified as 52-year-old Shannon Betz. The preliminary cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death is homicide.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1100 block of Delpy View Point for a man who was found deceased inside his residence by his roommate. When deputies arrived, they located the man’s body with a gunshot wound to his head.
The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation.
