LEMON GROVE–The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office released the names of the twin sisters who died from gunshot wounds at their home Wednesday in Lemon Grove.

The victims were identified as Caira Rachel Christopher, 15, and Leah Sylvania Christopher, 15. The cause of death for both girls was a gunshot wound and the manner of death was homicide, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The other victim, Gary Paul Goode, 22, suffered non-life threatening injuries. Goode was transported to a hospital for treatment. A female resident, 40-year-old Joann Chantel Hoyt, was not injured.

Homicide investigators arrested Dwayne Edward Groves Jr. for the fatal shooting and booked him into San Diego Central Jail. His arraignment is scheduled for May 1.

Investigators believe Groves, Jr. had a former relationship with the female resident.

On April 15, just after noon, Lemon Grove Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 7400 block of Central Avenue after receiving a radio call about a shooting.

Deputies immediately searched the area with assistance from the Sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter and located Groves, Jr.  nearby. He was taken into custody.
