Escondido, CA–The Sheriff’s Department and San Diego County Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man and a woman in connection with a carjacking incident on June 12 in unincorporated Escondido.

The carjacking occurred just before 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Old Highway 395 and Circle R Way. The victim told deputies he was driving when he noticed a woman on a bicycle on the side of the road who appeared to be in distress. When he pulled over to check on the woman, a black Honda hatchback pulled up behind him. A man got out of the Honda, approached the victim, and pulled out a gun on him. The suspect told him to give him his wallet and money. The victim told the suspect he didn’t have any money, but he could take his car. The male suspect got into the victim’s car and drove away. The woman got into the male suspect’s Honda and drove away, the Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. 

The victim was not hurt. His car was found abandoned the next day. The suspects are still at large.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic man with a heavy build in his 30s to 40s, standing approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and weighing around 200 pounds. He has a full beard, curly hair, and unknown tattoos above his eyelids. He was wearing a white t-shirt.

The second suspect is described as a light-skinned woman in her 30s to 40s, wearing a gray t-shirt, and riding a purple and green Kent bicycle.
