88888-1553-PoliceLineOneRedBlueSAN DIEGO–A male involved in a physical confrontation in the Horton Plaza community is in critical condition at a local hospital, San Diego police said Monday.

On Sunday, just after 2 a.m., an officer saw several people involved in a physical altercation in the 400 block of G Street. As the officer approached, participants of the fight fled the scene.

The officer found an unconscious male in the middle of the street and rendered aid. The male, in his 20’s, was transported by medics to a local hospital. He is currently listed in critical condition with significant head trauma.

It is unknown what preceded the altercation. However, a person-of-interest in this case was described as a white male, 25 to 30 years-old, five feet, nine inches tall, 165 pounds wearing a gray suit jacket and gray dress pants.

The victim’s identity was not released at this time.
