EL CAJON–Four people were arrested after an illegal marijuana dispensary was shut down in the unincorporated area of El Cajon, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said Friday.
Robin Gordon 30, Terra Fielding 21, Jaishon Johnson 24, and Amir Hicks, 27 were arrested and booked into county jail on drug-related charges.
Members of the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail served a Friday morning search warrant in the 3000 block of Oro Street in El Cajon.
The warrant was part of an investigation by detectives from the Sheriff’s Narcotics and Gangs Division and the Lakeside Sheriff’s Substation.
During the search warrant, detectives seized 97 pounds of marijuana, 147 pounds of THC vape products, 243 pounds of THC infused edibles, 87 THC infused drinks, 22 pounds of THC concentrates, $6,609 in cash, and one firearm.
Investigators discovered several THC infused edibles which falsely appeared to be legitimate name brand chips and candies. It is not uncommon for unlicensed and unregulated cannabis dispensaries to market their dangerous product to children. Additionally, THC infused food products closely resembling well-known name brands may be inadvertently consumed, creating potential health and safety risks. Medical cannabis is a standardized drug under the FDA regulations, and therefore should be dispensed at dispensaries that operate legally and without malice.
Sheriff’s detectives were accompanied by San Diego County’s Code Compliance Team, who noted several violations in the building creating a danger to its occupants. County Code Compliance requested San Diego Gas and Electric to cut off power to the entire property until the dangers could be mitigated.
