SAN DIEGO–The Larry Himmel Neighborhood Foundation is stepping up to provide assistance to San Diego restaurants financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Two days after announcing the Restaurant Assistance Program, the Larry Himmel Neighborhood Foundation allocated $15,000 to three San Diego restaurants.

The foundation presented The Landing Strip, Tavern at the Vogue, and Uptown Tavern with $5,000 each for their businesses and their employees.

The Larry Himmel Neighborhood Foundation plans to continue to allocate dollars after Christmas. Any business in need can apply here.

The more money the foundation raises, the more businesses it will help. The community and customers of restaurants can donate or send a check to the foundation at https://www.larryhimmelfoundation.org/donate.

The foundation believes that San Diego restaurants have been unfairly treated during the pandemic and deserve assistance.

Restaurants are encouraged to apply for assistance including assistance for any fines they may have occurred by remaining open.

The Larry Himmel Neighborhood Foundation is a group of San Diegans who help  San Diegans in need. Larry Himmel was a humorist who was perhaps San Diego’s greatest storyteller and he often helped the subjects of the stories he told who was in need.
