LA MESA–The FBI and the La Mesa Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown female who attempted to rob the Chase Bank in La Mesa on Tuesday.

Investigators say at approximately 11:07 a.m., an unknown female entered the Chase Bank branch located at 5505 Grossmont Center Drive and attempted to rob one of the tellers. At the time of the robbery, the female entered the bank and waited in line until summoned by a teller. Once summoned by a teller, she approached the teller and presented a demand note for cash that demanded specific denominations. The teller paused after getting the note at which time the female exited the bank without receiving any money.

Witnesses described the robber as white, in her mid-20s, approximately five feet, six inches tall, thin build, long, brown hair with blonde tips and green eyes.

She was last seen wearing dark sports-like “track” jacket with a number on the left breast and sleeve, a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans, white athletic shoes, and a black cap.
