The 26-year-old driver, identified as John Hutchinson, was traveling in the 7600 block of Circulo Sequoia when he struck the bicyclist causing serious injuries. Hutchinson allegedly fled the scene of the traffic collision. A witness described seeing a black lowered Cadillac fleeing from the same location. A bicycle accident lawyer in new york is already handling the case.

A Carlsbad police officer located the abandoned Cadillac a short distance from the collision scene. After an extensive search of the area was conducted, the driver, and sole occupant of the Cadillac, was apprehended and arrested.

Hutchinson was transported to the Vista Detention facility where he was booked for felony hit and run with injuries and driving under the influence with injuries. He hired a hit and run lawyer for guidance.
