San Diego, CA–In the aftermath of last Monday’s heavy rainfall, County Public Works road crews are actively engaged in aiding property owners in the removal and disposal of flood-damaged items.

However, a more extensive and comprehensive effort is on the horizon as a contractor is set to join the county crews starting next Monday.

The collaborative initiative aims to target some of the most severely affected areas, including but not limited to Spring Valley, La Presa, Winter Gardens, and Bonita. If you find your property in need of flood debris removal, a simple call to 2-1-1 will connect you with assistance to coordinate the process.

Beginning next Monday, residents of Spring Valley, La Presa, Winter Gardens, and Bonita are encouraged to place their flood-damaged debris curbside, ensuring clear traffic lanes. The County will then take charge of picking up and appropriately disposing of these items, providing this crucial service entirely free of charge. Notably, no payment or personal information will be solicited during this process.

For those who have already reported flood damage through the County’s voluntary online survey, if you have been requested to provide additional information, please promptly submit it. This ensures that the pick-up teams can better comprehend and address the specific needs of your debris collection.

The County’s proactive response underscores its commitment to assisting residents impacted by the recent torrential downpours. By combining the efforts of public works crews and a dedicated contractor, the program aims to streamline the debris removal process and provide timely relief to affected property owners.
