Driver Injured In Traffic Collision

CARLSBAD–A 23-year-old San Marcos man suspected of DUI drove his vehicle off of the roadway and rolled over multiple times before colliding with a brick wall, Carlsbad police said Sunday.

Carlsbad police officers say the Ford Sunday evening was driving southbound in the 4900 block of Carlsbad Blvd. when it drifted off the roadway and rolled over before coming to rest.

Fire crews extricated the driver who was pinned in the vehicle. He was transported by helicopter to Scripps La Jolla Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Alcohol and/or drug intoxication is suspected to be a factor in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
