El Cajon, CA–A woman was arrested for allegedly shoplifting merchandise with her young child in the stroller at a retail store in East County on Thursday, El Cajon Police Department said.

According to El Cajon police, a woman entered the Dick’s Sporting Goods store in El Cajon. While pushing her young child around the store in a stroller, she selected items totaling about $975, removed the anti-theft sensors, and left the store. El Cajon police officers found her nearby and arrested her for grand theft. During the investigation, drugs were located in the stroller within arm’s reach of the child. The child was taken into protective custody.

Police identified the woman as 29-year-old Tytiana Johnson. She has an extensive arrest history including various theft and drug-related offenses, authorities said.
