San Diego, CA–The County of San Diego and the U.S. Marine Corps have partnered to bring joy to local families this holiday season.
Toys for Tots donation boxes will be on-site at McClellan Palomar Airport, 2192 Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad, Gillespie Field, 1960 Joe Crosson Drive in El Cajon, Fallbrook Airpark, 2155 Air Park Road in Fallbrook, Ramona Airport, 2450 Montecito Road in Ramona, and Borrego Valley Airport, 1820 Palm Canyon Drive in Borrego Springs.
In December, Fallbrook Airpark and Ramona Airport will hold special Toys for Tots collection events for the community. Uniformed Marines will be stationed at both sites to collect the gifts in person. Airport officials hope to have aircraft and classic cars on display during those events.
The Toys for Tots event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Dec. 2 at the Ramona Airport. The second event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Dec. 9 at Fallbrook Airpark.
All donations will be accepted until 1 p.m. on Dec. 9 at all of the airports except McClellan Palomar. The Carlsbad airport will accept gifts until 1 p.m. through Dec. 8.
The community is encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys, bikes, games, dolls, stuffed animals, and other toys that will be distributed to children in San Diego County communities. Pilots are welcome to fly in to deliver their donations at the airports.
