Carlsbad, CA — Multiple individuals were arrested in connection with a widespread drug distribution network operating across San Diego County, the Carlsbad Police Department announced this week.
According to authorities, detectives with the department’s Vice/Narcotics Intelligence Unit (VNIU) uncovered an extensive narcotics trafficking operation that extended well beyond Carlsbad city limits. The investigation led to two major drug seizures and the confiscation of large quantities of illegal substances and assets.
During the first seizure, officers recovered 1,077 grams of MDMA (commonly known as Ecstasy or Molly), 458 grams of “Tuci,” a pink mixture of cocaine and MDMA, 1,914 Adderall pills, 1,217 Ecstasy pills, 360 grams of psilocybin (hallucinogenic mushrooms), 368 grams of cocaine, 244 grams of ketamine, 243 LSD tabs, $10,879 in U.S. currency, and a red Corvette, seized as evidence.
The VNIU is tasked with investigating drug trafficking, vice-related crimes, and criminal networks that often span multiple jurisdictions.
“While much of their work takes place behind the scenes and cannot be shared publicly during active investigations, the VNIU team works tirelessly every day to remove dangerous drugs and criminals from our community,” the department stated on social media.
No additional details on the suspects or charges have been released at this time, as the investigation remains ongoing.
