Oceanside, CA–Oceanside police are investigating a deadly shooting after officers discovered a man with a gunshot wound late Saturday morning, authorities said.
At approximately 11:16 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting near the 400 block of Country Club Lane. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in a nearby canyon.
Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
Detectives from the department’s Crimes of Violence Unit have taken over the investigation, which remains active and ongoing.
