CARLSBAD–The Carlsbad City Library has launched a new online service to help individuals and veterans search for employment.

Job Now/Vet Now supports job seekers, veterans and their families with all stages of job searching, employment transition assistance, navigating the VA, preparing for standardized tests and building marketable academic skills.

The service is free for Carlsbad City Library cardholders on the library’s website under “College and eLearning.”

VetNow Navigators are trained to help veterans and families connect with valuable benefits and resources and available between 2 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The Navigators refer patrons to applicable community resources for housing, healthcare, and education.

JobNow is designed for all stages of the job-hunting process, including career coaching, expert resume assistance, live interview preparation, and more. Get live assistance 1 to 10 p.m. each day, excluding holidays.

Patrons can use the career resources to discover the best career fit based on education, experience, and personality. They also can receive resume and cover letter assistance from trained experts, and get live, online interview practice from trained job coaches.

The learning tools will help users build academic skills through live skills tutoring and an extensive library of lessons, video tutorials, and practice tests for GRE and GMAT.

A Carlsbad City Library card number is required to access JobNow/VetNow through the library’s eResources, located under “College and eLearning.” For those without a library card, apply for free online.

JobNow/VetNow is provided by Brainfuse, one of the nation’s leading online tutoring providers, serving libraries, colleges, and universities, and school districts for more than 20 years. This service is provided to Carlsbad City Library cardholders courtesy of the California State Library.
