OCEANSIDE–Detectives and U.S. Marshals arrested a 21 year-old male suspect in connection with two robberies at the Verizon Wireless stores in Oceanside.

Damian McDowell Green was taken into custody without incident at a residence in Aguanga.

On January 14, the suspect entered the Verizon Wireless store located at 3702 Plaza Drive in Oceanside. He was masked and armed with a handgun. He forced the clerk into a back room and demanded cash and iPhones. He struck the clerk with the handgun and fled the business. On January 24, the same suspect entered the Verizon Wireless store at 4225 Oceanside Boulevard at gunpoint. He stole over 30 phones (mostly iPhones) and fled in a white SUV type vehicle.

In the residence detectives located items linking Green to the robberies in Oceanside. During an interview at the Oceanside Police Department, Green admitted to a total of five armed robberies. He confessed to the two robberies in Oceanside, in addition to robberies in Mira Mesa, Encinitas, and Poway.
