According to a car accident attorney, Investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver who hit a bicyclist and fled the scene in San Marcos, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday.

At approximately 7:52 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a person lying in the roadway on Woodland Parkway north of Fulton Road. 

Based on the preliminary investigation, a silver 2013 to 2016 Audi A4 was traveling northbound on Woodland Parkway approaching El Norte Parkway. A bicyclist was in the northbound bike lane and was struck by the vehicle from the rear. The vehicle fled the scene. The 71-year-old male bicyclist sustained serious injury and was transported by San Marcos Fire Paramedics to Palomar Hospital. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the collision.
