OCEANSIDE–Homicide detectives released the name of a man found stabbed on Monday in downtown Oceanside.
The victim was identified as 33-year-old David Patrick Viars of Oceanside.
Just before midnight, Oceanside police department dispatch received a radio call of a person who was located in the 1100 block of North Coast Highway with what appeared to be a stab wound to his body.
Officers and paramedics arrived on scene and began rendering medical aid. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.
Oceanside police detectives are still currently investigating this incident.
