VALLEY CENTER–A man suspected of attempted murder was arrested Saturday for leading authorities on a vehicle pursuit at Harrah’s Rincon Casino in Valley Center.
The suspect, identified as 54-year-old Steven Salas, was booked into the San Diego County Vista Detention facility on several felony charges. No one was injured during the incident.
Deputies from the Valley Center Sheriff’s Substation received a call from Imperial County Sheriff’s Department in reference of a wanted suspect for attempted murder, criminal threats, and felony domestic violence. Imperial County Sheriff’s stated the suspect was driving a black Jeep Wrangler. Through a Sirius Radio ping, the vehicle was located at the Harrah’s Rincon Casino in Valley Center.
Deputies responded to the area and located the vehicle in the back parking lot of the Casino. An attempt to contact the driver was made and he fled in the vehicle. A pursuit ensued and a spike strip was deployed successfully. The driver continued back to the Rincon Casino and he pulled into the 7-11 gas station, where he was taken into custody.
