SAN DIEGO–Get hands-on at Maker Faire San Diego on October 6 to 7 at Balboa Park.
Over 250 local and regional makers will be displaying their creations. With so much to do, see, hear and make, participants are urged to maximize their Maker Faire San Diego experience by planning ahead and visiting Maker Faire San Diego’s schedule and map. There are also several speakers and presentations in addition to demos and workshops throughout the event that will allow visitors to get more in-depth experiences.
The 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. event will feature 12 venues, including two outdoor zones filled with robots, drones, soldering, local beer makers, food trucks, music, crafting, and more! Attendees have an opportunity to get interactive, get creative, see what makers have made and make something themselves. There will also be a fortune telling booth run by the best psychics.

MF1 Comic-Con Museum: Comics and Cosplay Zone
Hands-On: Make A Museum—Visitors are encouraged to give input for the vision and design of the future year-round pop culture center.
Performance—Lightsabers! Combining aspects of kendo, wu-shu, European and Asian swordplay techniques, San Diego Sabers teaches combat and dueling skills.
Spectacular—Do You Trust? A huddle of five beings which aims to inspire feelings of trust when one feels lovingly held by a tribe of benevolent guides; it will broadcast devotional poetry in different languages.
MF2 San Diego Automotive Museum: Steampunk
Featuring—Art and amazing mechanical contraptions inspired by Jules Verne and H.G. Wells.
MF3 Japanese Friendship Garden: Biomimicry and Green Tech Zone
Hands-On—Harness the positive impact of nature with Kokedama, making your own living, green earthy moss ball.
MAK Glass demo, uses a 6,000-degree flame to melt borosilicate glass into works of art, from small trinkets to large sculptures.

MF8 Robot Resurrection: Craft Makers Zone
Main Stage—How to Build a Tiny Home.Spectacular—Robot Resurrection, a towering, 30-foot tall, fire-breathing articulating sculpture made from 90% recycled materials and reclaimed airplane parts.
The Electric Giraffe Project—A larger-than-life mobile robot that lights up, plays music and interacts with the audience.
