Temecula, CA–Speedgolf USA will host the 10th United States Speedgolf Open at Temecula Creek Golf Club on July 25 and 26, bringing together top athletes from around the world to compete for the national championship in one of the fastest-growing hybrid sports.
As a founding member of the International Speedgolf Alliance, Speedgolf USA will welcome an international field of competitors seeking the United States National Speedgolf title. Past champions include Robin Smith (2025), world champions Rob Hogan (2013, 2015) and Jin Ota (2024), as well as Jason Hawkins, the only two-time U.S. champion, who captured titles in 2019 and 2021.
The women’s division has been highlighted by Lauren Cupp, a five-time national champion and former women’s world champion who claimed the title in 2018.
Temecula Creek Golf Club will once again serve as the venue for the two-day championship, providing a challenging test of speed, endurance, and golf skill.
The Open Championship, the event’s premier competition, will feature athletes completing two 18-hole Speedgolf rounds. Competitors’ scores are calculated by combining golf strokes with running time, with the lowest overall score earning the title of United States Speedgolf National Champion.
In addition to the individual championship, the tournament will include a Team Championship, where two-player teams compete in a fast-paced nine-hole Speedgolf format. Teams may consist of male, female, or mixed-gender pairings.
Young athletes will have an opportunity to participate in the Junior Championship, a nine-hole event designed to introduce players to Speedgolf in a fun and supportive environment. With a $25 entry fee, the competition encourages sportsmanship, fitness, and enjoyment of the game while combining golf skill with athletic performance.
The event will also feature the FlingGolf Championship. Competitors will complete two 18-hole rounds using FlingGolf equipment, with combined throws and running time determining the final score. The athlete with the lowest total score will be crowned the United States SpeedFlingGolf National Champion.
Tournament organizers say the event is open to a wide range of participants, from elite Speedgolf athletes and competitive amateur golfers to runners who enjoy golf, fitness-minded golfers seeking a new challenge, first-time Speedgolfers, and junior players.
Speedgolf combines traditional golf with running, requiring players to carry a limited number of clubs while completing the course as quickly as possible. Final scores are determined by adding golf strokes to running time, making both athletic endurance and golfing ability critical to success.
The United States Speedgolf Open is expected to be the largest Speedgolf event in the country, offering both championship competition and an opportunity for newcomers to experience the unique sport firsthand.
